How many hardware units will I need?
For a starting project up to 3 modules are typically enough to have a proof-of-value. The good thing is that scaling to larger volumes is straightforward and will need minimal additional effort. Special pricing for large bundles apply.
Do I have to program the hardware by myself?
No! The hardware comes with a pre-built software that takes care of all required functionalities: talking to the sensors, pre-processing data, connect to the proper network and send the data to the Cloud. A web configurator is also available for easily tuning the device using a smartphone/tablet. Expert users can modify the software as it is fully open-source or may request for custom versions.
How do I find the sensors for my application?
We can work together on that and select the proper sensors.
What about the access to the Cloud platform?
Devices and data are fully managed through our Platform, which can be accessed using a subscription fee. For a starting project, access is free for the first 10 devices. For larger volumes standard plans apply with a monthly fee. The platform provides a rich visualization interface via custom dashboards for all historical data.
In case I need to re-configure the hardware should I visit the site?
Not at all, the Cloud platform provides 2 ways to remotely update the devices. Either by sending a remote configuration (e.g. tune the measurement frequency) or even send code updates over-the-air.
May I run the platform locally?
The current version of the platform is hosted in a Public Cloud infrastructure. However, it is possible to deploy it in a private infrastructure and even as a white label.
Can I integrate external IoT hardware to the Platform?
Yes! This is a common practice actually. Many times, some needs can be accommodated by off-the-shelf hardware while for others custom IoT devices (like insigh.io) are needed. In the former case we can offer software plug-ins for injecting data from external device and make our platform the focal point for IoT data collection.
